Branches
The Branch Network is at the heart of the Association. The 10 Branches cover England and Wales. Each branch elects annually:
- Chairman
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- 2 representatives to sit on ACSeS Council
The Branches normally meet quarterly but more often if occasion requires. They provide an opportunity to meet colleagues, to discuss practical problems and to share information and ideas. The Branches discuss matters of concern to the local membership and raised by Members. These range from implementation and interpretation of legislation, sharing experience of governance and other issues, sharing reports to Local authorities on new legislation, to receiving training from one of the Members or from an outside speaker. Many of the papers considered at Branches or issues raised at meetings are later fed through to Council or disseminated through the Website so that all members can benefit from them.
A major benefit of the Branches is that it provides an opportunity for networking with colleagues from other authorities in the region.
Some Regions also have informal meetings based on individual counties.
The first point of contact is the Honorary Secretary of each Branch who will be pleased to extend a welcome and to provide details of meetings.
