Organisation
ACSES is a Company Limited by Guarantee.
It is also an Association of :
- Managers with corporate governance responsibility, ie legal, administrative, democratic, corporate governance, scrutiny and standards functions of local authorities and similar bodies.
- Monitoring Officers and their deputies.
The Association at its annual meeting elects twelve Honorary Officers. The Association's Officers are the President, First, Second and Third Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Solicitor, Communications Officer and six other Officers who are responsible for specific areas of activity.
The Honorary Officers form the Board of Directors 9ACSeS Council together:
- with the immediate Past President and Past Presidents from the previous 3 years,
- the representative nominated by Solicitors in Local Government Limited
- one representative nominated as such from each Branch.The Branch Representatives may each each nominate an alternate Director from their Branch to vote on Board matters in the absence of the particular Branch representative. The Alternate Director may in addition take a full part in the discussion and voting on professional matters which come before ACSeS Council.
Branches have their own officer structure and arrange their own meetings and events.
The Association has two employees, the Executive Officer and Company Secretary and the Policy and Development Officer.
The Association is joint owner with SLG of LGG Ltd the leading local government legal training provider.
