Staff
ACSeS employs 2 staff members, the Executive Officer and the Policy and Development Officer. Their respective roles are set out below.
Ian LockeExecutive Officer
- To be the Company Secretary of The Association of Council Secretaries and Solicitors.
- To provide administrative support for the Association and for the President.
- To keep the register of members updated and to collect annual subscriptions.
- To organise and administer a successful Annual Conference which meets the needs of Members and is financially robust.
- To develop in conjunction with the Policy & Development Officer and the Working Party appointed by ACSeS a business plan for the Association.
- To develop in conjunction with the Policy & Development Officer and the Working Party appointed by ACSeS a new and improved website providing enhanced facilities for members and showing a better image to the public.
- To keep the website regularly updated.
- To develop in conjunction with the Communications Officer and the Policy & Development Officer an internal and external communication strategy
- To liaise with Branches and encourage greater use of the website by Branches.
Tony KilnerPolicy & Development Officer
- To carry out legal research and produce reports or guidance notes for members of the Association
- To design and maintain a framework of research findings and policy analysis to underpin the work of ACSeS
- To develop in conjunction with the Communications Officer and the Executive Officer an internal and external communication strategy
- To work with ACSeS officers on their respective portfolios to produce relevant material for the membership
- To produce reports, briefing notes and other material to keep ACSeS members informed of developments in the law and corporate governance
- To assist in the preparation of responses to consultation documents from Government Departments and other bodies, collaborating with ACSeS officers
- To maintain personal expertise in research and keep abreast of new developments in the field
- To maintain a knowledge of legislation and policies relevant to local government and associated bodies
- To attend ACSeS meetings and annual conference
- Such other reasonable duties required by ACSeS
