ACSeS' First Leadership Summit - Developing future Chief Executives

Come and experience a truly inspirational day out at ACSeS’ First Leadership Summit on board HMS President - moored on the River Thames, London - on Monday 12th July 2010.

This Leadership Summit provides a landmark event, which will also set an important milestone for the next decade. It is packed with highly distinguished speakers sharing their thoughts and experiences on what it takes to become a Chief Executive and the skills sets necessary to attain success not just as a local authority Chief Executive, but beyond.

The keynote address will be given by Prof. John Bennington of Warwick Business School, and the following leadership perspectives will be delivered by:

  • key politicians – Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham, Cllr Mike Jones, Leader of the new Cheshire West & Chester Council & a leadership perspective from The Centre for Public Scrutiny (Jessica Crowe);
  • key Executive Search & Recruitment specialists – Hamish Davidson, formerly of Rockpools, Julie Towers, Chief Executive of Tribal Resourcing & Martin Tucker, Lead Partner at Gatenby Sanderson;
  • key Lawyer Chief Executives – Ged Curran, Chief Executive of LB of Merton, John Polychronakis, Chief Executive of Dudley MBC & one other (tbc).
  • beyond Local Authorities – Olwen Dutton, Chief Executive of West Midlands Leaders Board & Clive Grace, Chairman of Local Better Regulation Office, & possibly one other from the private sector (tbc); and
  • specialists focussed on developing Chief Executives - Oliver Nyumbu, Chief Executive of Caret and Jonathan Perks, Managing Director of Penna PLC.

This truly unique Leadership Summit will include a Panel Session chaired by
