The Association  of Council Secretaries and Solicitors (ACSeS)  are pleased to have assisted in the production and publication of  Positive Engagement - A Guide for Planning Councillors. This summary guide has been produced by DCLG with a range of local government partners including ACSeS. The Guide builds on existing guidance from the LGA, the Standards Board for England and the ACSeS Model Members Planning Code. It is intended to summarise the principles that should be observed to enable Members to both participate in and lead the planning system.

 The review group will now go on to review the ACSeS Model Members Planning Code and the LGA’s Probity in Planning document.
